T-402-5507 Single Element Delay Line Transducer
The 15MHz T-402-5507 Delay Line transducer is the most commonly used probe with a PX- and PVX gauges. The transducer is equipped with a 1/4" crystal and microdot connector with top entry.
When measuring in the E-E mode it can measure 0.006” to 0.400” in steel and aluminum. Changing to I-E mode allows measurements to ~1.000”. In Plastics mode, measurements from 0.005” to 0.150”. Tapered delay lines are helpful for measuring on tubes and radiused corners. Graphite Delay lines can be helpful for measuring plastics that are similar in Impedance to Acrylic Delay Lines.
Acrylic delay tips will measure plastics if the material velocity is different from that of acrylic. If the velocities are similar, a graphite tip will need to be used. Measurement ranges in plastics will vary depending on the type of plastic measured.
