The Max-II Ultrasonic Bolt Tensioning Monitor is a precision instrument designed to measure the preload of fasteners up to 30m/100ft in length. It is the newest edition in a range of Ultrasonic Bolt Load Measurement Meters. The MAX-II data is interchangeable with the data from the MiniMax unit but adds features that make it more efficient and easier to work with. The MAX-II can be used in a wide range of industrial, offshore, service and laboratory applications.
The MAX-II Bolt Tension Monitor enables you to monitor, by means of an ultrasonic signal, the preload in a bolt during tightening and accurately check the residual load over the lifetime of the connection.
This measurement is achieved by determining the change in the transit time of an ultrasonic shock wave along the length of the fastener, as the fastener is tightened by any mechanical method. The MAX II then interprets this time measurement into a given quantity of time(nanoseconds), elongation, load, stress, or % strain while applying a load on the fastener.
Using a variety of processing and automation, the MAX II reduces operator error. With built-in data recordating and supporting DakView utility software for Windows PC & MAC OSX, the MAX II offers an easy to use and reliable solution to accommodate the most difficult bolting applications.
The MAX-II principle is by far the most accurate and economical system to measure and manage bolt stress in your assembly processes. Furthermore it enables you to revisit your bolts in certain intervals and monitor the quality of your bolt connections over time.
With its new "Auto Correlation" feature the MAX-II helps you to optimize your transducer placement which makes accurately re-reading the preload in a bolt easier.
The new large QVGA sunlight readable color display and the new calibration function make it very easy to use and provide all the great advantages without the steep learning curves associated with other models.
